Angry Birds Birthday Card (using the Cricut)

Get ready for a really long post!!!!
Oh boy did I ever have a fun time making this card.  I searched all over the net for something cute and did I ever find it!  This card originated from 2 Stampin' Up posts that I found.  Unfortunately, I do not own Stampin' Up stuff, so I used their ideas and created an Excel spreadsheet so I would always have what I needed using George and Basic Shapes and Plantin Schoolbook.
The first thing I found was how to make the pigs.  That came from Valita's Fresh Folds.  She is an amazingly talented woman with lots of great ideas that she shares.
The next thing I found was the card from Stampin with Niki.  Another amazingly talented woman.
I cut the banner out of Christmas Cheer at 1" and wrote Happy Birthday.  The grass I just cut with scissors, later realizing that I could have cut a border off of George.  Oh well, still came out cute.  I did pop up a blue bird, the yellow bird, the red bird and the helmet pig.
I love the way this card turned out, just look at the smile on his face!

Tomorrow I will post the recipe for all shapes and sizes :)

Baseball Birthday Card Book

I volunteered to be Room Mom for Ri's class this year because it is his last year before Middle School...sniff, sniff.  Anywho, Riley has a male teacher this year that is just amazing.  Every single kid wanted him this year...Riley got lucky and got him.  But, what do you give a guy for his birthday right after the holidays?  If you have ever been a Room Parent, you know how hard it is to get money out of people :)  So RILEY, came up with this idea...that's my boy!

It is a Baseball Birthday Card Book from the students, that's a mouthful.  This came out so much cuter than I could have ever imagined.

I cut the glove from Sports Mania at 8 1/2" in brown, I cut a blackout in brown and a blackout in ivory.  I took my brown ink pad and marked up the ivory to make it look like it was dirty.  The chipboard...it is actually a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal box that I also cut in multi cut blackout :)  I made the back cover the same way, with chipboard.

The baseball is cut from Sports Mania at 4 1/2" in white and then a blackout in red.
This is what I sent to all the students and asked them to write Mr. T a birthday message on one side only.

The W was cut from Plantin Schoolbook.  I do not have Varsity Letters from Walmart...but I really need it.  The Wolverine was hand cut.  I did it the same way I cut out the Patriots Logo for my Super Bowl banner.

I did not take pictures of each page, but there was one ball per side so it looked like the mitt was holding the ball.  This was the last 2 pages.  The pocket on the left was for any extra baseballs that did not get returned to me on time.  The pocket on the right, I put a gift card in for his favorite restaurant.

I think he loved it, he was very surprised when we gave it to him with cupcakes for his whole class!

Football Vinyl Water Jug and Cooler

Today is the first day of football in our crazy obsessed football Texas town. Riley is on a new team this year and I wanted to make it fun for him. We purchased the water jug and cooler in his new team colors and I knew from the moment I saw them I would vinyl them.

This is my second time using vinyl and the Cricut. This time was much easier than the first...seeing how I did it 2 years ago and I did not like working with it. I used Plantin Schoolbook and cut the letters out at 1". The # was cut out at 3/4" and the 83 was cut out at 1 1/2". I really love the way this looks. The football was cut out of Sports Mania at 3".

I wanted to put the vinyl on the white of the cooler to make it pop.

Another angle of the cooler.

"Beary" Happy Birthday Card

This year, I decided that I am going to make all my Birthday cards for family and friends. Dave and I both have large families. What have I gotten myself into :) I have always wanted to create a sweet little face like this, and now I can. Thanks to ScrapBookEden. Step by step directions. It is wonderful.
The bear I created on DS using Plantin Schoolbook, just paper piecing. I chalked the edges. I use real blush for the cheeks. I would love to think people will keep my cards forever. With the exception of my Mom, I know they go in the trash :) The sentiment is done on the computer so I can change the color of the "Beary" to match the rest of the card. The glittery paper and ribbon, I got out of the $1 bin at Target. I really did have a lot of fun creating this little bear.

Lego Birthday Card

First I need to start out with an apology. I just searched all my Favorite Blogs for where I got this idea. You know when you think, "Oh I will remember that!"? Well I never "remember that". Anywho, when I remember where I got it from I will let you know...and give the wonderful creator credit.

I made this card on my DS using Plantin Schoolbook for the shape and Printing 101 for the HAPPY puzzle pieces. The little boy is cut from EDPD at 4" and the face is PKS. The Legos are pop dotted using a standard hole punch. I could not figure out the shirt to give Bradley and finally remembered what Bradley's favorite shirt is. Every Friday he "absolutely has to wear" his school spirit shirt. His birthday fell on Friday. He loved this card. The shirt came out so perfect.

Packers Birthday Card

A good friend of Riley's plays for the Packers. Riley loved the Longhorns card that I made for him for his birthday and asked if we could make one for his friend. Because the 10 card was on my DS, this was so easy. Riley did such a great job on this. The only thing I did was the detail on the pants and helmet, Riley did everything else. He has watched me use my Peachy Keen stamps so many times that he knew exactly what to do. I did not take a picture of it, but we made a pocket on the inside for a gift card. The doll and accessories were cut from EDPD at 4", the helmet is cut from Sports Mania at 1 1/2" and the 33 is cut from Plantin Schoolbook at 1/2". We used the xyron the make everything stick.

Boo Box 2

Okay, so this was last years boo box. I used PDDU for the pumpkin, ghost and cat. Boo was done from Stone Script and the boxes were done on Plantin Schoolbook. This is my first attempt on something like this after I received my Cricut. Is this where it all started?

Another Birthday Party, another gift bag. I think I have been taking the easy way out by buying all of Riley's friends gift cards. I cut the bag using Plantin SchoolBook and the ticket and "Cut" sign is from Locker Talk. I love the way this one turned out. The party was a Movie and Sleepover theme. The invitation was a ticket. Thought I would go with the same theme.

Here is another cute little gift card bag using Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, cut at 6". Riley designed this one for his friends baseball birthday bash. I think it came out really cute.

Made this one for my Brother and Sister-In-Law, they welcomed a little boy just 2 weeks ago. I can't send them this card though because sweet little Wesley got a hold of this and destroyed it. Glad I took a picture when I did. The sweet little face is Peachy Keen Stamps. The carts I used are Everyday Paper Dolls and Plantin SchoolBook.

This Gift Card bag was made from Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and the baseball player was made from Sports Mania. We made it for a friend on Riley's baseball team.
